Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday

The Palm Beach County (PBC), Florida, Board of County Commissioners (BCC), is seeking an experienced professional to perform advanced responsible managerial, technical and administrative work leading the Administrative Services Division within the Department of Engineering and Public Works (EPW). This is a specialized management position primarily responsible for assisting the County Engineer, the Deputy County Engineer, Assistant County Engineer, and all EPW divisions and staff, in planning, directing and developing general administrative support services with emphasis on human resources activities. Handles employee complaints and grievances; issues counseling forms/disciplinary actions; recommends the hiring, termination and promotion of staff. Responsible for the management and coordination of Department financial activities including revenue, grant, operating and capital budgets, grant management, accident billing, daily cashiering functions, and purchasing. Independent judgement and initiative are exercised in carrying out the daily operations of the Administrative Services Division. Reports directly to the County Engineer. Work is reviewed through conferences and reports for adherence to established policies and achievement of desired objectives and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration; minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial and general management, which includes two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience. Equivalency: Master’s Degree in Business/Public Administration AND three (3) years of related experience, that includes two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH:Human Resources Management-related functions; development of policies and procedures.
